Introduction

The Education Studies for Post Graduate Diploma In Teaching For Primary School (Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah Sekolah Rendah KPLI SR) offered by the Teacher Education Division of the Ministry of Education uses the School-Based Teacher Training mode. It is delivered to the participants through the using of three main approaches namely, Self Mastery Learning Module, Tutorials Interaction and Task-Based Teaching Experience.

This Self-Mastery Learning module for Educational studies consists of three learning modules divided in three stages. These modules are designed for self-directed and self conducted learning with the aim of making you a self-reliant learner. You may acquire the knowledge and skills contained in these modules in an environment of your choice in your home, the school or public library or anywhere you feel most comfortable.

Stage 1 Module One consist of Two Units

Stage 3 Module Three consists of one unit

In Module One Unit One , you will be introduced to the concepts of Psychology and Educational Psychology , Nature of Man, Development of Personality and Self Concept, Classroom Management and Theories and Process of Learning. This will be followed by Unit Two with topics such as Teaching, Testing and Evaluation, Basic Statistic and Primary School Based Assessment.

In Module  Two, you will be looking into two units. In Unit One, you will review the various Thinking and Learning Styles, Behavioral Problems, Interaction and Communication and Teaching (Smart Pedagogy). In Unit Two, you will be led into the discussion of Remedial, Enrichment and Inclusive Education. Fundamentals of the National Philosophy of Education and Philosophy of Teacher Education and lastly Management and Development of Curriculum.

Module Three consists of only one unit. In this unit, the focus is on the Guidance in Education, Teaching as A Profession, teachers and the World of Education, Teacher Professional Skills, Enhancement of Professionalism of Teachers and Challenges in the Teaching Profession.
